Picked up this beauty tonight. All original and matching 2 mil gun. Someone clear coated the stock, but it looks pretty good IMO. Now LC can't taunt me that I don't have an early blade Chi-Com  :P

HOLY COW Power...this is an awesome find and a beautiful specimen. Congratulations! I wouldn't touch that stock, it looks great.

Looks like they did alot more then clear coat...  But a nice rifle none the less.  Congrats!

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

What's your thoughts on that, LC?

Lots of the Century batch guns had pretty bad stocks, and many many of them were redone.

You get to shoot it yet?  What you think of the build quality taking in to account its a WELL used war rifle?

I just picked it up this evening and brought it right home. But I'll tell ya...this thing still looks brand new inside. The quality of these guns is amazing.

I also picked up a nice 24 mil a few days ago...but no pics of that one till I find a damn replacement "III" rear sight ladder (previous owner put on a "scout scope" mount).

So in chinese, I have a 50s gun, and 60s gun, a 71, a 79, and then two new production 90s guns. And I can honestly say, while they are all very well built, you can definitely see build quality drop off a bit as time went on.

It say CAI Georgia VT.

The red looks much more red in pics than it does in person. I was thinking of trying to strip it....but it's a REALLY thick coating, and it does look really pretty. And I'd rather have a refinished original stock, than an original finish mis-matched stock :)

Very nice PS!  Looks great!  I will check my "box-o-parts" for a "III" and get back to you.

That would be awesome...I've been thinking that's going to be hard to find.

Sorry PS, I have a "D" and a "3"  :(
