Here's a neat Luger I was recently allowed to add to the stable.

-2 correct blue fxo/e37 mags (mismatching, because I'm not a 1%er). The gun itself is all matching.
-'42 make from the Mauser plant, the final year of production before it was phased out in favor of the p38. It's an e-block serial, and I believe production halted in the m-block.
-Bluing looks strong, I'd say 90%, showing some finish loss in the typical places, like the muzzle, side plate and straps. Minor pitting along the receiver rail.
-A few dings along the barrel.
-The bore is pristine.
-Matching grips show some gouges and a small chip by the mag release, the checkering is deep and crisp with negligible flattening.
-The holster is a '41 dated, correct & original piece from Reichel. The stitching is intact & tight. Strap, buckle, and tool holder are complete & functional.
-The Afrika Korps pith helmet came from some Texan douchebag.
-All in all, I believe I came out of this deal smelling like a rose.  What a beautiful piece of machinery.

"I'm sorry to hear that..."
"Yeah...he fell off a guard tower."

I only have three questions.

#1.  Can I have my pith helmet back?
#2.  How much did the desk cost?
#3.  Whats it like...  being a legend?

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Damn, that's nice. Whenever I see one of these I wish I knew it's story.

Nice one  fart1

Hmm...let's see. You put that eurotrash underpowered pistol on the table, we can get something done. My pith helmet, a cash consideration, two minor league prospects, and a player to be named later, for the Femaru. That's a sweet package for a pistol that couldn't penetrate a paper bag.  rofl

Thanks man! I'm hooked, if you can't tell.
Sometimes I yen to know the story. Other times not so much, especially if it involves some thug NSDAP scumbag. In all likelihood this was just some bean counter's, pencil pusher's desk pistol.

Speaking of Hungarians...and bean counters...did you guys hear about the Hungarian SS guy who just got arrested and deported for trial? They call him the Accountant of Auschwitz. He was responsible for sorting all of the valuables that were stolen from Auschwitz campers. Those Jews sure do have a long and unforgiving memory. Forgive and forget, man! (ok, sarcasm there). Gas the bastard, I say.

Did not hear that...  interesting.

Bah...   I wouldn't wanna get shot by 22lr yet alone 32acp.  Your offer sucks!!   :P

Throw in the luger and I might consider it.

That pistol is a beauty and getting the whole package is a real bonus.  Hard to improve on that  thumb1

That's crazy! (About the Hungarian SS guy), reminds me of a Minnesota guy who was a Nazi officer.. got caught a few years back IIRC.

Did you deep fry something before handling your luger? You have some oilly finger prints.

But seriously, nice pistol  thumb1

Very nice Blicero! When you buy these firearns with leather (hoster, ammo pouches, etc) do you do anything to preserve them?

ugafx4

Leather stresses me out personally. I have a few "rigs" myself, but I do not try and make everything a rig. Once leather starts getting dried out and cracking, there is nothing that you can really do. The only thing you can do is prevention. I keep all of my leather in a nice rubbermaid container in my climate controlled room. If you store things in the right condition, they will last indefinitely.

If there is some cracking, or it need some attention, the only thing I will EVER let touch any type of valuable leather is 100% lanolin. You can find 100% medical grade lanolin in the maternity section of your local store. Google its use medically. Awkward conversation trying to find it the first time.

Neatsfoot oil and boiled linseed oil is not the same formula as it was back then. Worst thing you can do is oil a piece of leather.

I use ballistol on all of my guns exclusively and I know of people that use that on leather with good results. I am not endorsing this, merely letting you know it is an option. I will endorse ballistol for gun usage  thumb1 It is the only thing that touches my k98s.

That is a thing of beauty! So many of the pre-WWII firearms just seem like they're from a whole 'nother world. An elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Thanks for sharing!
