"You would last about an hour in Charlotte before the police were called bc you were walking around outside with a bottle of scotch and a g43."

"I don't appreciate you showing Nazi images. My old lady's granddad died at Auschwitz."
"I'm sorry to hear that..."
"Yeah...he fell off a guard tower."

"There's a berm at 100 yards?"
:))  Yeah, more like a wall at my range.  The 200-500 yd gongs are up the flank of a hill from there.  I've never been to the high power range (out to 1000 yds).  Come to think of it, I'm pretty lucky to have such a range just 12 highway miles from my house.

Im confused...  You dont place paper targets at 200 or 300?   :)

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Anything over 100 yards, we may as well be talking about a fathom or a league or a parasang or some such unconscionable measure. I'm a mountain boy, dammit. 65 yards is long distance to me.

Fired at my steel plate at 100 yards this afternoon, here are five shots with a 4 inch spread. I haven't built a shooting bench yet, I was resting on a corner post for these shots. I believe this carbine has the potential to out shoot our three Chinese carbines!

Nice...  Looks like your liking the guns performance. 8)

He should! Those 3 shots nearly ripping one clean hole are a great indicator of the rifle's capability. That's better than what I do with the Russians. Nice work Danny! Was that factory ammo?

That looks great! I usually get about a 4-5" ten round group at 100yards off the bench. Honestly though, I think my eyes are more of a factor than the rifle...

Thanks Blicero, that carbine demonstrated today that it's a far better shooter than I am! I knew that I "threw" one of the other two when it left the bore. And it is factory ammo Kevin, Wolf black box (WPA) 123 grain FMJ.

The bore looks very good, sharp and clean so it's gonna be a good shooter. Hopefully I'll soon be able to build a bench and that will improve my shooting.

Thanks Power Surge, my eyes are definitely the major factor in my wild shots! I had some shine on the rear sights, I usually blacken them with a wooden match but had no matches available.

One very interesting observation I've made shooting SKS's open sights....  the "enclosed circle" does more harm than good for focus, IMO. I've noticed that if I look at my target at 100yards away ABOVE the slight circle, it's pretty clear, but when I move the target into the circle it immediately blurs inside the circle. Move it back outside the circle, and it's clear again.

I've seen AK FSBs with the top of the circle cut out. I'm pretty someone else back then figured that issue out too.
