Okay, I just brought this gun home today.  My LGS wanted me to wait till my entire group came in so they could give me a break on the transfer fees.  I love my shop!!!

Anyway, I will tear it down over the weekend and take some pics, but wanted to provide a few updates in the interim.

The stock: This does appear to be original to the gun.  The shiny finish on the sales photo was just the layer of cosmo reflecting the lights.  The wood does not appear to be catalpa as the grain most resembles Asian teak.  I know that would be quite an oddity, but my search did not reveal another indigenous wood that has a similar grain pattern.  It is finished in a shellac that appears clear, but the wood has a moderate red tone to it.  I will try to find a good sacrificial area to strip to see what really lies under the cosmo.

Serial numbering: All exterior parts number match to include the stock.  The "JH" suffix was not added to the SN after manufacture, but is of the same font pattern, size, and strike force as the original serial number on the receiver.  However, the "DP" has a larger font and was struck lighter than the SN.  There are no import marks on the gun at all, though it was purchased in the Nationwide Sports box with a B-West sticker on the side panel.

Barrel: Bore is shiny (except for some globs of cosmo) with well-defined rifling. Bolt face appears unused.  I do not believe this gun has been fired beyond perhaps a few test shots at the factory.

Metal: The gun is made up of cast, milled and stamped parts on the exterior with very deep bluing that shows no wear. I am anxious to tear it down to see if the internals have the strange series of numbers that Gangbanger's "DB" has.

That's all for now--gotta wait for a no work day to go further...
