Battle Setting vs other sight settings

Well done, Echo83! I'm sure that will just get better the more you shoot! The bayonet may be a help; I find that extra weight further out helps steady things a bit, much like weights on the end of a target barrel.

If you find you need to adjust the front sight's windage and you've obtained a tool for the purpose, take a bit of time and polish the part of the tool that will do the "pushing" to a mirror-like finish with emery cloth. It will be far less likely to mar the front sight drum.

I believe your supposed to have the bayo extended.  The bullet exiting ricochet off it for guidance..

Extending the bayonet could improve barrel harmonics...

I have found that having the bayonet deployed on my M-44 makes a huge difference in barrel harmonics and accuracy. With it folded back, it shoots way to the left and in inconsistent. Deploy the bayonet and it hits consistently in a decent group centered on my target.

It is easy to see that the SKS may have similar behavior. Gonna have to try both the next time I get to the range.

hmm, i always put my bayonet on to shoot mosins, but never extend the bayonet on the sks.
Well thats something to test next time.
I painted some of those sighting tatgets once, wonder what happened to them
