Newbie in Michigan
« on: May 10, 2015, 08:36:29 AM »
Hello. Just joined the forum, so new here but not new to firearms. I collect vintage military weapons, guns, knives, bayonets. I also love the SKS and have a commercial Para, and a Navy Arms Cowboy Companion. Most my guns are USGI fro WWI-Vietnam war era, but also have the other side too. Glad to be here.

Hello from NE Wisconsin!

John Galt
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."
Rudyard Kipling  1919

Hey Tudorp... come on in.  Welcome.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Thanks ya'll.. Here is a really nice Navy Arms Cowboy Companion I recently added to the collection. I have the Type 89 scope mount I just picked up from Joe, and the correct Poly-Tech scope. No pictures of the mount and scope on it yet, but will take some soon enough.

That's likely the sexiest 1917 on this forum. Sweet rifle!

Thanks fokes. These are just a few of my favorites.  I assume I have to have a certain post count in order to post in the for sale section? I have a vintage red star scope I am looking to sale/trade off.

My most interesting in those pictures is my 1914 serial dated Colt M1911A1. It served in both world wars. It was a WWI M1911, then arsenal rebuilt as an M1911A1 and served in WWII. I absolutely love it. It sure gets a lot of attention when I take it out to the range every so often.  Here is a better picture of it, with a 1918 Sheffer & Rossum USGI Holster.

Thanks. I tend to favor them myself. So much as my daily carry firearm is the grand son of my USGI M1911. My personal concealed carry sidearm is a Colt "E" serial number (made only 2 years), Colt Stainless Government 1911. A family portrait.. ;)

Then we'll do old skool/new skool. Personally I like the old skool, but do also have a few new skool. The AR isn't anything to brag about, but it sits with the old USGI Winchester M1 Carbine. On the other side, the Arsenal SLT101s sits with the old Mosin & SKS.
