My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Welcome from Washington State! We'd love to see pictures of your SKS.

Thanks for the kind replies... So now have a question.
Took it to the range and have a problem. Looks like a shell did not extract properly and the neck of the steel case is stuck in the chamber.

So bought a extraction tool and it failed to remove the neck of the shell casing !!

Any suggestions on how to get this out?? Been struggling for hours with no luck.   Thanks!

Here is a image of what a round looks like trying to go in, at this point....

So you can see, there is some spent schell left in there.  I am needing some advice...
Thanks !

I would try soaking the broken case in penetrating oil overnight. Get a brass chamber brush with solvent in there to scrub out any rust/hardened preservative beyond the broken neck to maximize your chances of a sharp case edged for the broken case extractor to grab onto. Then loosen up the broken case extractor and make sure it's past the neck of the broken case, tighten it well and try short hard raps on it with a hammer on a lubricated rod inserted down from the muzzle end.

Sounds like the chamber needs to be cleaned well from possible lacquer build up. Try using your cleaning rod to tap out the casing from the muzzle end. You can also use a wood dowel.

Between 1/4"- 9/32", just needs to be smaller than the bullet OD and the neck ID as well as the lands ID.

Hey All,
Really appreciate the meaningful suggestions.  Soaking and ready to do some poking tommorrow. Hope and pray for the success...

When you get the case out, clean the crap out of the chamber, an old bore brush wrapped in copper pot scrubber works good, not the lame cheap Dollar store copper coated steel scrubber, a real copper one, ChoreBoy makes a 100% copper scrubber and lots of cleaner of your choice.  Most likely, as been said, a sticky nasty chamber is what got you in this predicament.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

Greatguns

A little bore brite or just CLP on a .45 or .410 copper bore brush should do the trick as well. Then spray it with brake cleaner and follow with a light coat of CLP or gun oil.
