East German Makarov

Found an orphan East German Makarov at our local gunshow Saturday. Been on the look out for one for years to go with my Grenztruppen der DDR (East German Border Guard) uniform display. Brought the uniform back from Germany, along with a piece of the Berlin Wall (Circled in the last picture) and a Stars & Stripes newspaper and some other DDR stuff when I left Germany in 1992.

Need to get a spare magazine and pistol lanyard for it. Don't recall if I have a lanyard packed away for it.

Typical Makarov, nothing stands out from other ones. Small import marking of CAL 9x18 and SSME PLANT CTY FL.

Serial number AT3660 dates it to 1961.

Not too worried about the holster with it, as my display uniform has one on it.

Picked up two spare magazines for it, just waiting on the pistol lanyard to show up.

Then it'll be 100% complete. Might look for some surplus ammo to display with it.

I really like the Makarovs, and I think the DDR version has the best fit and finish.
