Been trying to find a Short Rail at a decent price for years now, paid a bit more than I wanted, but I feel glad having it now. I will admit, there's a very specific reason I wanted it, I bet you'd never be able to guess what it is  :))

I love CZ 75s. Sharp looking gun and those short rails can get rather spendy. Congrats  thumb1

That early 75 is beautiful and it really highlights the fact that the 75 took a lot from the Browning hi-power with that front slide profile that has not been seen on a 75 since I think. I have never seen that early of a model physically in front of me. I love Hi-powers, that's an awesome gun to own.

The best I can think is the repro CZ Custom model that remade the short rail. This is an original short rail though, made in 1978. Barrel is a bit marked, it's definitely been well used looking at the finish on the grip being worn. It also seems to have some aftermarket sights as well.

I noticed something the other day about this pistol. I saw that Ian from Forgotten Weapons did a video on short rails and when he mentioned them not originally having half cocks, that made me wonder because mine does have it. Then I noticed that it had an aftermarket modification with drilled holes on the side near the back of the frame. After that I started looking more closely and made the connection that the screw in the trigger guard was also aftermarket. It is located just at the break of the trigger and stops overtravel.

Seems like this might have been a european target pistol for some time, given the half cock, trigger guard screw, and what appear to be target sights. Just a bit of interesting bits I never thought about before. Also interesting since it's an early production from the first 3000 made
