Hey I've got ONE Swiss ao far at least, an 1879 Waffen Fabrik Bern Vetterli M1869/71, even got the pointie stabie thing for it. It's numbers matching. I have a spare bolt that has been converted to center fire, preserving the original one in rim fire. I have a cleaning rod and sling for it somewhere.

I've got one original Swiss 41 cartridge for display purposes. Building display showing the different cartridges for my firearms so I don't have to find an ammo can to get or pull up a picture to show someone.

It was actually my wife's ideal, to do the ammo display. A few are commercial examples of military rounds but I swap them out when I find a military one.

Just can't bring myself to drop $75.00 on one Egyptian 43 round so far. Call me cheap but dang that is a lot of normal plinking ammo money.

Some in my needs list, is because I've just haven't gotten around to getting the ammo yet like the 38 spl.  Then for the display purposes, I got a 556 and 223 as I've actually had people argue with me that there is a physical difference between the 2 or arguing that 44 Mag and 44 Spl use the same size shell.

The Orignial 7x57mm Mauser 2 from 1896, one 1913 and 1937. So basically the 7mm Mauser version of the 8mm aka M88 cartridge I'm looking for. Have tons of 8mm Spitzer examples, just need the M88 (Ball) version as that is what 1890 Danzig Gew 88/05 I have was originally chambered for. Great for showing the lineage of the 8mm round used by Germany

So now my big question. Did the Spanish Mausers, Model 1893, use the Ball (Round) projectile or did they always use the Spitzer (Pointed) round? If they did use the early version first, I guess I need to add that to my needs list.
