Going rate for the Chinese SKS these days?

Would appreciate your input on the following specimen a seller wants me to make an offer for. It lacks a bayonet. What's the going rate for these nowadays? I'm not into Chinese SKS but if I can get a good deal then why not.

Can't make out the factory stamp, is it a /26\? Hard to find them under $400 now a days, but this one is missing the bayonet and a sling so maybe you can get it closer to $300-$350. Looks decent enough condition-wise and if it is a /26\ then it is a 1965 build.

If it takes a spike bayonet I may have an assembly I could part with along with sling and a bandolier. Is the cleaning kit in the buttstock?

I did happen to think, on a '65 that should still be a blade bayonet. Is it all numbers matching? That would be a plus, balde bayonets are more expensive these days though.

65 would be the first full year of spikes....the blade transition happened mid 9m

I maybe was thinking of the change in the sling swivel location back to the bottom, but his stock is a side swivel....IT'S ALL SO CONFUSING!!!

Yeah, I learned that patience is key in those matters. Now I kind of want a Chinese for my collection . The way things are going their prices will climb too.

Sounds like one of those boating accidents that seem to be prevalent among American gun owners.

So many firearms lost in those accidents, so sad. Something tells me the seas/lakes/rivers are going to be very rough the next few years.

I wasn't actually sure what to make of it. Maybe he wants to sell it for a higher price but wants to keep his options open. Who knows.

Sounds like one of those boating accidents that seem to be prevalent among American gun owners. 

Gotta watch that excuse..... in 11 states its mandatory to report "lost" or stolen firearms. 

Besides... gun oil is a hazardous material, then add chrome, lead, powder residue, commie cosmo... then you open yourself up to ecological damages and in your case P32, you'd probably need a permit to build an underwater reef

I did a quick survey of current Chinese SKS GB prices and HOLY COW! I see bids for 500+ with no bayo and 600+ for good condition nothing special varieties. If prices don't come down at some point I might need to win the lottery to continue this "collecting thing". Just 6 months ago I didn't want to buy beaters from Classic. Should have bought a crate and flipped them for nice profit now.

I bought my first Yugo 20years ago, Numrich import out the door for 179.. with some of the prices Ive seen over the past 10years, I just shake my head at it all... Ol Merle Haggard wrote a song about it.. Are the Good Times Really Over....  Profit.... My first Mosin was $79.... $69ea if you bought 2, I got a M91/30 and a M44 that day. I still have a sealed 6 box battle pack of x39 Bear ammo with the price tag of $12.99.

Classic...  what a joke, oh the days of Bible thumping and screwing ya predating the ol chunky britches BabyGap Ben fornication. Despised them then, just as much as I do now.

I mean the overall rise in milsurp costs is not surprising at all, it follows the usual pattern, but this year things are just insane and there is no end in sight. I look at prices over past 6 months and they are still climbing and climbing quickly. Ammo is even worse than guns. I’m trying to rationalize it by influx of first time buyers, but it is puzzling.

I've tried to rationalize it, but like the previous elections, they are the best sellers ever, this year was no execpetion. Plus, some of the unusual things have added, the riots, police defending talk, the pandemic etc, plus add in all the new firearm owners. I'm sure ammo manufacturers have had people lay out like many other employers, this has possibly had an effect on production. Same thing on meat, dairy and many other food products, and toilet paper. Gotta have the people present to make it all. 
It's worse case situations all meeting at one time, then throw in one 5 letter word.... Greed.. that's driving some of this mess as well. It's that way because people will continue opening their wallets to pay. Typical market, sometimes it's a buyers market, sometimes seller's market. Just buy in the dips.
