Hi

during my last range visit a couple of times after loading ten into the magazine The bolt hung up on the tip of the next round failing to go into battery. after making sure the rounds are all as far back as they can be in the magazine this stopped. Is this typical?

never noticed that, but I always tap the butt on the ground after loading. tap the mags on my ak's/ar's too after loading them just to make sure the rounds are all the way back.

I haven't had that problem either. I work the bolt pretty hard, and once I got over my fear of a slamfire, I resisted the temptation to ride it home while loading.

In fact, the only failure to feed I've seen was the result of riding the bolt home instead of just releasing it and letting it go on it's own.

Have you tried loading fewer than 10 rounds to see if that changes the way it feeds?

Jerry Miculek demonstrates loading from the bottom in his SKS review, I thought it was interesting:

Are you using soft points?
