Ok...at P32s pleasant asking and M08 thinking, maybe it is some funky elusive Bangladeshi thingy.. like I would get that lucky. :))   Especially... for what was paid for it. :)  See...M08...says China on the stampy thingy.. I choose China cause there won't no USA ATL.GA. category  rofl2

It's just a [0138] Polytech.... nothing special, just a run of the mill box of chocolates Chinese SKS.  thumb1  Only 2 numbers are actually stamped, the rest are electro-pencil matched. They went through the trouble to match the extractor and the retaining pin, but the gas tube and piston have no number. The stock has been beat on, looks like old use, more so than recent abuse. Some other signs of abuse, it has been shot while the grease was still in it, you could pull the bolt back, and it would slowly go forward at times. It has, or had active rust in several places, along with the rust, it took a little work to get the piston out of the tube, a little more work to get the firing pin out. The extension piston had what looked like rusty/blackish snot all around it. Oh...and it has a stamped trigger assy in it(which was...packed with yucky hardened stuffs), and the bayonet is still staked, I forgot those pictures..... So..I'm guessing it may have seen a refurb or something.

Anyways..here are the pictures. Lots of pictures.....cause RM loves him some pictures.... thumb1 chuckles1 It looks somewhat better now than when I drug it home, still needs some detail cleaning work.

Ok...some more, just to keep some interest.  It sure ain't no pretty thing is it, it is however, a classic hollar honey SKS, tough, ugly and cheap, right up my alley..  chuckles1

Ok...your still looking, ain't bored yet, huh......geeze, ok a few more..  rofl

I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

What's 'is' odd...  Most of the standard serial locations are.... EPed.   :-\

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

All of the standard locations are penciled, except the stock and receiver.

Seems like everything else has been forced matched or ?  I have no clue..

A bicentennial SKS refurbed by SKS.  Sold!  thumb1  :)

I don't have a rectangle arsenal  cry2

Power Surge

Definitely a factory rearsenal of previous parts into a new rifle, which seems to be quite common from the 70s factories.

Is factory 0138 Polytech? I thought arsenal 386 was Polytech?

Greasemonkey

It's just a Chinese.. marked Norinco and Poly... it's a switch hitter. thumb1  The import mark is part of the Poly Technologies company, which through research of RM, is more like a shell corp used at the time.

Bah...I thought we all knew better here...  bat1

That's not Polytech. That's Poly USA. An importer, that has nothing to do with Polytech.

That crap drives me crazy....I see it all the time on GB. People advertising SKS's as Polytech, because they see the Poly USA import stamp.  bat1

It does have the 3 sight leaf I so often see listed as being for PolyTechs....coincidentally at three times the price.  :)
I wish I hadn't messed one of those up...spendy little bastards....and it wasn't on a PolyTech.

I don't have a rectangle arsenal either.  :-[

This one is one closer to rarity though...just saw a blowtorch brigade [0138] a couple days ago....poor lil fella....well, all I saw was the once cut receiver. I could probably find the rest of it if I looked hard enough. The torched receiver stub was $65 with a BIN of $100....and, through a trade I began consorting with one of them....and found people actually pay that much. Where I see a handful of very difficult to remove parts that total around twenty bucks...shipped....someone else sees gold?

Additionally, this one sports a very obviously cast gas block.  I really like the side slinged stocks too....they display nicer when slung, and at least to me seem to be easier to carry slung.

Commentary is good.  But I still like the pictures.

Dude with the electro-pencil fell asleep before he could get to the gas tube and piston.

The government provided cot at the factory dormitory isn't all that relaxing after the 18 hour shift.

What do you mean you drug it home ! I thought that phrase was only used after 2am. And trust me, Theres nothing wrong with the pictured find clap1 Good going GM ! Since when did you care about wiping the greese off before going shooting ahh nevermind  chuckles1

Nice Pick-up !  youll have that thing dialed in to infantry specs in no time  thumb1

What  :o You think I live by normal daywalker hours... Oh no.. I'm a night people...thats when all the fun happens and things can get drug home and hid.  rofl2

Bah...the grease is just a formality... I will smear some special monkey grease on it and throw it in the pile with the others. rofl
