Bought my second SKS today. A chinese that has a marking that I can't figure out.  Does anyone know what this signifies?

It's already messed up a little. All numbers match except the original magazine is not with it. It came with two detachable mags instead.   I'll put up some more pics later and ask for some input about an idea I'm considering.  Now I've got to go tell the wife I ibought another gun

From what I understand, they were not advertised as such when sold.

I assume you mean one that doesn't have a serial number?

My idea was to swap it out for now with the other SKS. It is a Romy mish-mash and the bolt carrier doesn't have the notches for stripper clips, so I would use the detachable mags with it, and at least have a normal style mag on this one. And keep my eye out for a more correct mag.

Yes, it'd be nice to have a blank one but any 10 rounder would be good. It looks really nice in the pics. I don't think I've seen a Romy bolt carrier without stripper guides. Have you posted it in the Romy section?

Well, the Romy is a mish-mash of different serial numbers like DE..., RA..., but the bolt carrier w/o the notches I don't believe is Romanian.  The SN on it is 007!

Carrier is from a commercial variant... A commercial guru would have to tell you which one.
