Thanks for sharing Ed, from what I can tell it looks pretty good. Any details on condition, serial #'s matching, etc? Are you happy with it?

edritchey

It's in nice shape and is all matching numbers - I just got it today and cleaned it up didn't get it out yet but it should shoot good the crown bore and chamber look like new

Dang, that sucker looks pretty nice to me!  clap1

Does your bayonet have a rough texture to it (my M59 from way back when most certainly does, almost gravelly feeling with that grey coating) or is it more of a smooth finish?

Does the serial # start with a C-xxxx?

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Sweet!!   Cant wait to get mine tomorrow!

Looking good!  Congratulations.

I wonder if this really was just "a few crates found in storage" and if Dan's Ammo snatched them all up from PW Arms recent import shipment.  I haven't seen any M59s pop up at SOG or Classic, or any Yugo SKSs of any types at any of the other retailers. think1

The latest date of preservation I remember seeing on a crate tag from classic was 2007.  I think maybe one of the crates SKhiSm got might have had a 2008 on it (but I don't have acces to those pics at the moment).  I honestly think these are fresh off the boat with dates like that.

It could easily be this was only small shipment of Yugos in general and only these three retailers were willing to pony up the $350 or so per gun to buy them from PW for resale with Dan's getting the inside track on the M59's only.   Stranger things have happened. It'll be interesting to see:

1) how long the M59's truly last (the 'sold out' on the website turned out to not be quite accurate)
2) whether Dan's gets any of the new m59/66A1s
3) how long the M59/66A1s last at both classic and SOG
And 4) whether they have to cut into their profits a bit to move all these guns if they don't sell in a timely manner.

The way I understood it when I talked to Dan's was that this was a fresh shipment. They got all the M59s and there were only a few crates. I don't know what he considers a few. They didn't get any of the 59/66A1s. He did say if they find lesser quality guns they would adjust the prices.
