Cool stuff  thumb1 With that much vanadium I'd say it's a precursor to 4340, but I'm not a metallurgist.

ran out of paper did the best I could so I just painted the damned thing black. the paint filled in the trenches AKA scratches and now it somewhat resembles a Russian black bolt refurb.

I don't expect the paint to last long though, I'd like to get my hands on the paint the Russians used!

I only use black oxide anymore... Worked well on a carrier I did also!
