I know--I am a Russian nut  and  pretty much a purist but this came to me in the stock so I added a spike and a usable Scope--Hope to get out to the range and see how  close my laser sighting is. Who says  7.62 x 39 isn't a sniper round?..
  and yep, it's a /26\--hey everyone is entitled to at least 1 bubba--right?

Can you show us the import stamp/stamps....  this is just outside of the known Sino Syrian serial range..

You have definitely got me there--since it was already a bubba I never paid any attention except to the /26\   after a quick look over the only other stamps or marking is on the barrel just above the bayonet and that just says SKS 7.62---and of course with a little closer look out on the barrel--CAI ST AUB --

Sounds like it came to him in the crapco stock when he got it.  Maybe it's just my eyes, but heck it sure looks like a blued bolt to me in the second photo.  If that's the case, if you ever want to go back crazyone, I'd suspect it'll be a dreaded laminate stock.

Welp....  most of them were brought in with normal hardwood replacement stocks, so even at that it would be a desirable gun.  Thr receiver cover is more important than the stock is.

I'm conflicted, I should be nice and say nice find. Which if original it would be.  OK, it could the basis for a very nice restore job

Unfortunately it came with the bubba stock and cover so it's not much use as a collector.  I will check with my son but I think it was a gun show trade.  Sorry--I didn't get to it before Bubba!
