I know that the milsurp world isn't what it used to be, but why are Chinese crossbolts/recoil lugs and nuts SO expensive from the common sources (fleabay, Keng's, etc.)??

Stupid crazy prices on that part. I also saw one guy had the folding adapter 'retro fit' kit for the old ATI/Combat Exchange Ultralite folding stock for sale at $149.99.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

At those prices I'll trade 4 sets for a rifle, PAX

That's exactly what I thought, Echo1! And something else that is curious: where are all the chopped up SKS rifles coming from on Gunbroker, and why? Police seizures? Seems a shame...

Parts is a much easier business to be in than whole firearms with all the FFL licensing requirements.  Back when I was doing the Gunbroker tracking threads, I would see a very cheaply priced SKS go through one month, then the next month I'd see the stripped barreled receiver sold for about 75% what the original complete gun went for.  Then I'd see the rest of the parts sold individually either on Gunbroker or Ebay.  Flippers made really good money on those types of transactions, but they kind of dried up once you couldn't get a full up SKS for $250.  I'd imagine there are certainly police auctions selling confiscated and flame cut firearms that people who have an 'in' make decent money when they part them out.

There are much cheaper sks crossbolts available online.

Thank goodness I picked up adequate spares in years past. While at present it seems that even Russian recoil lugs are cheaper, I just can't see around $100 for a Chinese part that should reasonably be $20 or so.
