Pinned SKS barrel, AKM barrel compatibility?

I’m looking to make a sbr SKS but in Canada I can’t cut the factory barrel beyond 18.5”. I’m wondering if an AKM barrel could be turned down to the same dimensions as a pinned SKS barrel. I saw this https://www.reddit.com/u/Keltecfanboy/s/0kIepp0PoN post where they turned an AK74 barrel and was wondering if I could do the same with an AKM barrel. I would need to use a virgin barrel that doesn’t have its gas port drilled or any cuts made for the components.

All possible with enough money and/or the right equipment. As to legality, have no clue on Canadian laws.

Perfectly legal to possess everything but the receiver. I’m mostly concerned with the OD of the barrel and if it is greater than the OD of the SKS barrel at the trunion
