Ok, I found an avatar that I would like to use.  I use photo bucket.  I have tried the url and direct option from photo bucket.  I add the link to my profile and update.  The profile screen says I have updated my profile but no avatar shows up and the selector in my profile goes back to "no avatar".  Is this blocked for newbers or does this have to be accepted by admin?

I am no computer/internet pro, so I am probably doing something wrong.

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

Hi John,

Can you post up the image you're thinking of using?  Avatars are a bit tricky because they need to be a certain size.  Once we figure out what's going on with it, we should be able to help you get one up no problem...

Here is the pic I want to use.  This is the original size.  I did make it smaller but that didn't seem to work.

Thanks R-M

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Thanks!  Looks great!  Was I just too dumb to figure it out?

Thank you,

John Galt

Hey John,

Here's a resized image that I squared off for you to 1024x1024 and cleaned up the background.  It will prevent the image from being distorted in your avatar when it auto downsizes it.

Download it, save to your computer/device, then upload to your photobucket account and use the url as your avatar....
