Found this little gem yesterday by accident. It spoke to me saying it was a good deal. 4 benjamins and it left we me. Was that a fair price?

All numbers matching. Has a 4 inside triangle on the stock. A 3 on bottom of stock near the butt plate and even more numbers in the wood where the action sits. Also has 3 stamped on bottom of trigger group near the take down button

Shoot The Refurbs

If the French tickler speaks to me it says late 70's or maybe 1980 Chinese, 22-25M SN. All matching 400$ is a good price today.
The bayonet speaks to me too and says; put me rightside up :P  :))

I will add my congrats to the list.  These are nice rifles!   thumb1 thumb1

Nice pickup at the price for certain.  thumb1

Based on the photo and your description of the stock it's a year 23-24 /26\. It could also be an M21 0296.  Those are the only type 56's with originally installed French ticklers.

Here are a few more photos... Did find the serial number elctro penciled on gas tube, piston and rear sight ladder, that was a cool find!

That would have been a good price for a 23-24th year Jianshe 3 years ago. Today it's an excellent price  thumb1

Agree with all of the above, great price.

Great score for $400!   thumb1.  I've been hitting many shows in the last few years, everything that looks even close to that shape is $6-700 easy!  Nice job!

I think you did great! This past month and a half, I've sold 12-15 firearms. I have 4 of this type /26\ SKS with the "Tickler" Upper Hand Guard. I sold one of those by laying it on the table at a gun show and pricing it at $700.00. The rifle went quick with no haggling needed, at the full 700.

I'd sold 3 YUGO M59/66 SKS, still new, in grease. All went for $700-$800, depending on the exact rifle. These went fast. One was a Cherry's import.

So, you picking that up for $400.00 is a steal, or at the very least, a great investment for a future flip of hopefully 100% return. And they're excellent rifles to keep and shoot, too!
