Thanks for the heads-up. However, price wise no better than many eBay listings.

Speaking in terms of the nostalgic "Good Old Days",  have a 2003 Tapco catalog here with the Chinese spikes for $4.99 ea. and I remember when Sportsman's Guide would sell them as low as $3.00 ea. when sold in multiples. I think I bought a bundle of 10 spikes for $29.90!

So, yeah, $45.00 is sure a sign of the times.

Greatguns

Keng's (Polytech) has them starting at $29.95 w/BIN at $34.95 on GB and $3.95 1st class shipping. That's about the cheapest NOS out there right now.

Desert Fox Sales is usually a good deal when you get their sale prices, but the regular prices, not so much.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Yup, good old days are gone.  From now on it's a "If you want it you'll pay for it!" mentality.

One possibly good thing to come from it: if a guy shells out high $ for a type 56, it's less likely that hes going to irreversibly bubba it when he sees how expensive replacement hardware now is.  At least that's my hope, bubba will likely think he's still "improving" things irregardless of costs.

Okay - thanks.

Just saw them and wanted to pass it along, in case someone here needed one.  They aren't the best price I guess, but at least they are available to undo Mr. Bubba's work.  chuckles1

Well, plus if SKS's cost as much as say, WASR-10's, bubba might actually pay for the WASR to mod instead of the SKS. We'll always have to worry about 18 year old Bubba's getting hand-me-down SKS's but at least you won't get so many cheapskate Bubba's trying to "make" an AK for cheap.

Some of the young'ns do appriciate the old stuff. My sone just turned 16 and he is the one that wanted the Mosin's we just got. I didn't really even know much about them until he was like, "Ooooo, dad, lets get one". So started doing research and now I'm hooked on the whole milsurp thing. My bank account is NOT going to like this.  :P :P :P
