High Noon

Just a recent photo (I think) that i found online.

Still amazing to me that the SKSs are still being used in Russia and seen in so many variations.

Interesting stocks. Gas tubes, rods and mags in the white?

Are they stainless steel?

I think they are unblued too CZ.  Stainless would be a pretty pricey mod.  They likely wanted them all to look a certain way.  They are certainly unique and consistent despite being different year SKS45s.  You can see a 45° gas block on the rightmost gun in the photo.  The blonde stocks are very reminiscent of some of the late Chinese stocks.  I wonder if they are refinished original stocks or brand new stocks with a totally different finish than the red shellac we know and love?

Takedown lever also in the white, quite strange indeed.   think1

Silver color but dull. I would guess nickel-plated but it could simply be the standard steel parts in the white and mildly polished.

Now that you mention it, electroless nickel would be much easier than leaving them in the white and having to deal with the potential corrosion issues that this entails (esp. under parts that are not easily wiped down / protected like those take down levers).  Could be flash (matte) chromed too, we don't do much of that in the US anymore (only a handful of plating shops even touch chromium anymore in this country) but it's durable as all hell.  thumb1
