hello everybody-
as a long time lurker, i've appreciated all the great info on this forum.  my introduction is overdue.  i picked up my first sks in the 70's back when they were uncommon & ammo was almost unheard of in the midwest.  i never considered myself a dedicated sks collector but if i found an interesting one, i'd pick it up.   i'll try to post an interesting one occasionally.

Welcome to the Files Swede. What part of the Midwest are you in? I'm in Kansas City, MO area.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Swede, Welcome from Kentucky/Colorado!!!

  You need a crew

"A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined" (George Washington),
But they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of Independence from any who might attempt to abuse them. echo1

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.~John Adams 1798

Welcome from Washington State!  If you picked up SKSs in the 1970s, that was when they were rather scarce and all Vietnam bring-backs. Very cool  8)

Welcome to the 'Files from SW Missouri, swede1894! Are you a collector of Swedish Mausers? I don't have any of the Swede's but have heard nothing but good things about them. I think there's a few members here that appreciate them, too!  :)

Thank you all

i'm in MN currently.  Yes, i've collected Swedish Mausers for years and that was always my primary focus.  The first sks was a bring-back from a neighbor...to date myself, i ended up doing yard work for his mom for an entire season in exchange for the rifle.    -Swede

Welcome to the boards, or at least welcome to posting & communicating with the community since you've been lurking since November 2018!  :P

Looking forward to seeing your carbines, Swede!  Also wouldn't mind seeing some Husqvarana goodness *hint hint*!

Laugh, the files means SKS-Files (or some could argue AK Files)
The boards means SKS-Files too!

Sksboards is referred to as the 'other' boards.  rofl
I honestly don't even think of them when I think of a good SKS / gun related forum!  There hasn't been anything of substance there since 2014 IMO. Does the blue shark still scare away noobs by berating them for not calling a clearly marked SKS Sporter an 'M'?
