Have had this SKS for a while, bit of a rarity what with the stamped receiver, although I can say without a doubt it is feels like the most poorly made SKS I own.
Whats interesting about it is the shape of the bayonet, shaped differently than every other spike SKS bayonet I have come across, comes to a needle point instead of a flat blade tip.
Do these follow the same serial number/date formula as most other SKS's? I'm guessing no as I don't think it would be something made in the 7th year of SKS production.
And a few pictures.

That is a true rarity, both arsenal number and the stamped receiver manufacturing process.   thumb1  It's a 1971 manufacture year.

Isn't that a Type 63 bayonet?

I know some Type 56's came in with those on them, in small numbers.

Good eye, quick google search shows that is exactly what it is, curious that they would design 2 different bayonets that were essentially interchangeable, although i don't have a type 63 to see if an SKS bayonet fits it...

Standard Chinese SKS spike bayonet is 14 7/8" long. How long is your Type 63 bayo? Does it fit into the groove of the stock okay? Flush for the hand when folded? With yours having the resin stock, the groove may be a little different/more narrow, but shouldn't be much.

Did yours come with a wood hand guard? I can't tell by the picture and my old eyes.

The bayonet fits quite well in the stock, and it is the same length as my other chinese spike bayonets. And yes the handguard is wood.
The gun is all matching, although the gas tube and piston are not serialized.
