Chinese Type 56 SKS Price in 1991 ?

Out of curiosity, what was a decent price for a 'new in box' Factory 26 Chinese SKS in 1991 in the US? I found an old purchase receipt showing a guy paid $139 (including tax) for a phone order in October 1991. I am wondering if he paid too much at the time.

I think I bought a paratrooper in that time frame for 120.00 out the door.  So not too far off.

I was looking through some of my receipts last night. One was purchased 11/17/1992 for $110.00, another on 02/07/1993 for $129.99, and another on 02/26/1994 for $139.95.

All three were standard Chinese Type 56 carbines. They would write "Paratrooper" on receipts for everything there for a while. But I didn't buy an actual shortened "Para" until around 2004.

I don't have any receipts for 1991 but I think the $100.00-$110.00 is pretty close. I'm sure some prices varied by Seller and area of sales.
