What would you suppose caused these circle indentation on this stock near the serial number? If stocks could talk…

Me shooting the SKS in question, it’s my beater ChiCom SKS.  It appears as though it’s action is cycling but I can’t find the spent casing in the air.

I suppose the end of a rod shaped object, like a cleaning rod, or any number of other things could have caused the circular mark. In any case, it's good to see you and Jorge's SKS getting out for some range time  thumb1

I’ve seen certain Sino-Banians with multiple circles pressed into the buttstocks that were clearly made by spent 7.62x39 cases (Wish i knew where those photos are).

If your carbine is like mine, that spent case is hovering right over your head in the photo, waiting to magically drop down the collar of your shirt to give you a nice surprise!!  :P rofl

Stock looks good, how'd she shoot?

High Noon

Looks like a nice rifle - not sure I'd call it a "beater".   thumb1

So many things "coulda dunnit". I can picture in my mind a U-clamp bolted onto a pipe or something with the flat sides of the threaded ends pointing upward and the SKS getting laid on it during transit. A small amount of load pressure would make an indention like that. Or, it could be from something totally different, completely unrelated.  chuckles1  thumb1

I think it's actually a few grades above "beater" status, myself! Your SKS looks pretty darn good. They are fun to shoot. I wanted to do some shooting this weekend, too, but so many folks were out and about in the area due to the holiday that I just decided to wait. How did yours end up shooting? Any feeding issues or ejection issues? What type of ammo are you using? How's the ammo supply where you live? Okay, I'll limit my questions.  :)

Thanks guys.  She shoots well. Without any adjustments we took her out to about 400 yards with open sights for the second time. Ive shot Barnaul, Tullammo, Wolf, Military Classic, and PPU. I encountered no issues, worked like a champ.

I see it. It's in the air right over the pile of spent casings on the ground to your right front. It's appears larger than the rest of the casings because it hasn't reached the ground yet.
