The Brazilian M1908/34 is a true Brazilian made rifle, chambered in 7mm, during this time, they also cut down some M1908 long rifles and stocks and performed a refurb. The side of the receiver reads Made in Itajuba, which is the Brazilian arms factory back then. I have no clue on the wood, but the rifle itself weighs alot more than the K98, It's got the normal slightly pitted bore common from South America, but nice rifling as well, it's based on the large ring Mauser like the M1908 Brazilian. It's also common to find a 08/34.30, the same rifle chambered in 30-06, as Brazil rebarreled/rechambered some rifles. The muzzle cap was included when I got the rifle. There are at least 4 slightly different variations of the 08/34, some differences are reused and scrubbed CZ and DWM made receivers, some even still maintain the long rifle rear sight.

I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

Now that is fine looking. I like the way the hand guard fits around the rear sight, that's plumb snazzy looking!

That's a beauty grease. Thanks for sharing. How common are these badboys?

Thanks thumb1
They are not rare, but not really common. This is one of those, you see one, you will see two or three in a given time, then poof, you don't see one or find one for quite a while.

Hey Carl, think that wood might be Brazilian mahogany?  It would surprise me if its not some exotic rainforest wood that is illegal to cut anymore...

I've heard of "The Girl from Ipanema", now I've seen the blonde (wood) gun from Itajuba. That is a really fine looking specimen!  I like the crests on these South American rifles too.
