Came across this on GB. Despite being advertised as "unissued" with "light use", my interest is in the serno stamped on the top of the hand guard on this /26\. Anyone have any info on these uncommon stamps?

Not one that I've seen before.  That's a neat one!  thumb1

Any possibility that an unscrupulous owner down the line somewhere added these numbers hoping the uniqueness would bring a bigger payday?

Anything is possible.  Cheap $10 punch set from Harbor Freight is all you really need I suppose.

This one has a decent amount of finish in the stamp though, I think it's legit done in China, not that it adds anything to that poor gun.  They certainly did odd things to stocks at times.  dntknw1

I like it.

Especially the fact the the handguard serial is in the same font.

I'm guessing this is a pre-1967 carbine?

Hey BB, it's an 11mil, so a '66.  POLY import.

I've seen the Russians with the 4 digit SN on the side of the upper handguard, but nothing like this Chinese example.

They advertise it as matching, but it has a Leapers scope mount, unfortunately. Also advertised as un-issued but "seems to have seen light use". lol
