Sounds like you have a CAI import SKS45.  They translated the Cyrillic letters to the Roman alphabet and stamped them, but did so a bit haphazardly.  See: What is my Russian SKS's true serial number?

Your gun's Cyrillic S/N starts with КЛ which translates to "KL" in the Roman alphabet.  thumb1

yes it says cai import st.albnay again,,thnx..although i have no small star anywhere except the stock with the inspection stamp on the other side..dust cover is 1951 tula star with a rework stamp and is not consistent with the receiver s/n

The gun is not a Russian letter suffix gun.  It's a refurb Russian SKS45.

All Russian SKS-45 carbines had prefix letters before the serial number.

A Russian Letter Gun has a single suffix letter. Those letters are Д, И and К which are the year codes for 1956, 1957 and 1958, respectively. The Letter Guns also had a (Tula) star on the left side of the receiver.

From your description yours has neither of these features, therefore it's an SKS produced earlier.

The fact that your firing pin doesn't move suggests that it's full of cosmoline, or has another issue. Start by driving out the firing pin retention pin with a punch. Then clean the firing pin and the channel for the firing pin inside the bolt body thoroughly. Check the firing pin tip for any sharp edges or nicks while you're at it.  thumb1

well i bought it from someone responsible and he used it ,,later regretted selling it to me..the rifle has all well seen inspection stamps ,four on each side, on forearm around pin has proper stamps of tula, date and s/n on stock with stamp on the other side as well..magazine and top cover have different s/n like so many others do..the barrel has a little stamp, two very small verticle lines and one horizontal across the top like a hash mark almost (pound sign)..thanks for replying ,i do appreciate the help as i will do what you suggest

ok i got the pin to move some more and when you shake it you can hear it and see it..my friend has a bench and room to work so i will punch out pin there..now so far all internal s/n are matching and there are 13 separate stamps on firing pin bolt ,,
