 ..... Been a while since I was NEW anywhere and I doubt I'm very different from most here.

Hunter of anything edible except geese (don't care for the taste) shooter (PPC, IDPA, CAS, Target & of course, 'yotes; I'll drive 100 miles to cap one of those - I raised sheep & an ex had horses)

A variety of life experiences as I was raised to be busy, productive as possible and make my own way.

Enjoy fishing almost as much but really only like to eat something from deep, cold water so I don't fish much any more.

Trust about 0.05% of anything presented by ANY MSM outlet & change channels as soon as I hear "Let me introduce the panel ...." Give me the 5Ws and I'll make up my own damn mind, thank you.

As I find POLS from either side of the aisle very capable of and, likely to, lie in furtherance of their own agendas, I'm fairly apolitical but heartily despise bureaucrats, no matter where located, period.

Skepticism is a good practice. When someone tells me they have alternative facts they are letting me know that they’re about to lie to me but would like me to believe the lies, and “please repeat them to your friends, thank-you”. 

Talking head shows are entertainment for the faithful where they sometimes advertise that they’re the only ones telling you the truth, so you can be certain that they aren’t.   

All politicians and lawyers�"just assume they’re lying until you verify for yourself that they aren’t. 

Mainstream media, I don’t reject everything they say or print just because they’re MSM. There are undoubtedly some individuals with journalistic integrity in the Murdoch, McClatchy, Forbes, Turner, Bloomberg, etc. empires, but those journalists are all individuals with their own biases. The organizations they work for are run by people with tons of money and an agenda of their own, run from the top down, so be skeptical indeed. 

Finally, be skeptical of ourselves and our own tendency towards confirmation bias, parochialism and tribalism  When we start believing only people of our age, race, creed, ethnicity, nationality, gender, party have the corner on the market for truth, morality, ingenuity...and even humanity, then the new Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, or Pol Pot is waiting just around the corner to recruit us.
