Hey guys  do you all have any opinion on getting Tech Sights  peep sight for the rifle?     If im going to shoot with open sights i would rather have a peep for one of my sks (the one that shoots the best )

Maxwedge is also a more stock looking option but i dont see many reviews and having a peep so far from your eye isnt ideal.   Im open to your perspective

I have a set of Tech Sights, the cheaper model without windage...for my eyes, I recall it being pretty nice, the longer sight radius certainly helps with accuracy.

Actually since getting bifocals, I should give them another shot, the only problem is you have to gouge away at your stock for them to work...not to mention remove the takedown lever.  They also are kind of funky looking IMO.

My 49/50 good ol' whatever it is Russian came with a Williams peep sight, which I didn't really like much, although I removed it without shooting with it.  Later I installed it on another gun with the Firesights front sight...which is an abysmal failure in engineering...it simply doesn't work for the SKS front sight without being drifted all the way to one side.  Needless to say, it never got fired then either.

I haven't looked into Magwedge.
I haven't seen these around in a very long time, but Mojo also made a peep sight system for the SKS rear sight that looks far more robust than the Williams, and actually doesn't look too out of place on the gun either. You can kind of see one on this incredible SKS:

Not interested in cutting into the stock after fixing it but i do like peeps.  Also my release lever is wonky since the Albanian stock isnt notched for it.  If you are interested in selling the Tech Sight peep let me know.

since i have 2 sks's i can make one look off original and the other can be an original.

Will do, I may mess with it a bit again, although the stock I modified to use it is an abysmal mess of an ATI Strikeforce, primarily why I took the chance on it rather than a wood stock.  I did take the rails off and notched it for a bayonet  :)  Unfortunately, I only have three SKSs with the retaining pin missing from the latch. My 49/50ish Russian, an odd Chinese that I need to headspace a bolt on but also threaded the hole for a receiver cover mount, and my DB, which has the distinction of using a numbered to the gun AK style rear sight vs. an SKS type. (I forgot, the rear sight also has to come off or the Tech Sights another thing that looks wonky to me)  All of which have fantastic stocks I don't want to bugger up.   This is the kind of dilemma that makes me want to buy another SKS.

I am wondering how my now messed up vision will work with it, it might just be what I needed to effectively use irons again.

I wouldn't say, unless it's loose that there is anything really wonky about the takedown lever, it should rest on the stockline and close fine...you just have to have a strong thumbnail to get underneath it.  You could also perhaps just make your own notch.  If you were to use the Tech Sights the takedown lever would go away anyhow though.

I have a DC Engineering fully adjustable all steel peep on one of mine and I like it a lot. It's  very low profile and completely reversible if need be.

Late to the game, but I have Tech, Williams, and Mojo one a few SKS, a couple duplicate set ups.

For me, the Tech sites take more aiming. The Mojo and Williams (with the aperture removed) are more like ghost rings, and are fast to acquisition and follow. Which kinda goes along with a Para's intended usage.

I've used peep on .22s forever. Two circles are easier with poor vision for me. I have to have glass for serious work. PAX
