Hello.  I've been collecting military firearms for decades.  My first rifle was a Type 56 SKS, bought in 1980.  Unfortunately, you couldn't find ammunition for it back then, so when I came back from Okinawa, I was now legal to own a pistol, so I used the SKS as a down payment for a Browning Hi Power.  I still regret letting loose of the SKS.  Now I've over compensated and now own 15 SKS derivatives, mostly Type 56's (various factory codes and one cast receiver), along with two SKS-D's, an SKS-M and a Romanian.  Those form the bulk of my collection, but Garands, M1 Carbines, an L1A1, various handguns, etc., round out the remaining.   Thanks.

Thanks, all.
RM, where in NM?  I spent a year and a half out there doing contract work at Gallup.
GM, my Romy will be the next one I get pix of. Then my Breda/Beretta Garand...then maybe my Nationalist Chinese Hi Power...

I'm in a little town called Belen about 30 miles south of Albuquerque. Close enough to town for me to drive in daily to work, but far enough away to not worry about the crime, traffic, inane city specific laws, etc.  thumb1

Gallup is nice to visit but I don't know that I'd ever want to live there. Whole lot of painted desert for miles and miles and not much else around there.

RM, roger that to both.  I liked Albuquerque since it had some decent gun shows, but I'm glad to be back here in Kentucky.
