I ran across this video on another site and thought it was interesting.  The Russians have moved into the 21st century with their NC mills (sure looks a hell of a lot like a Haas VF-3 to me, they even copied the dang door sliders!) inclusion checks via magnetic resonance, and pretty nice investment casting processes.

I found the part around 4:30 quite interesting. They rebarrel old SKS receivers to .366 caliber and instead of messing with index marks, they just tighten and mill the flats (and I assume the extractor groove) after the fact.  They have definitely progressed in the past 60 years.  thumb1

I always like these type of videos, no idea why.

Sure looks like it kissed the front of the receiver.  Something we don't see on the old guns.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Very interesting video.  thumb1

I hadn't heard of the .366 TKM. A lot of inventiveness going on in cartridges and barrels triggered by Russian laws.

Kool, I didn't know it was due to Russian laws.  I guess those Molot fabricated guns are meant for the domestic Russian civilian market.

I wouldn't mind having one of these:

AK action with a monte carlo stock and no muzzle device or bayo lug...is that still considered an "assault weapon"? (no, not by the evil features rule of the now expired AWB  chuckles1)

Oh.. me likey... kinda makes my Cintas pants dance.. I want one.. :)

But of course the AWB expired, and we cant import Russian stuffs, so I guess I can't have one.  cry1
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

very cool, love having a glimpse incside the factories.
thats for sure how they did the early thread in ak barrels. extractor cut after barrel tightened down.
