Was looking at buying a SKS and found a really nice one, apparently unfired 24mill. Unfortunately, the triangle stamp is impossible to cipher. I was hoping you guys could give me a hand.

These are the best pictures he could take and even he can't figure it out; "can't read it with the naked eye," he says. Thanks guys!

It certainly is not a /26\

It looks similar in size to my /906\ stamp which unfortunately is covered by a shell deflector at the moment. I don't think that is what this is, but the size of what can be seen seems to indicate at least three digits.

Definitely; thought it was a /26\ from a distance, then a /106\, but I read that they have no Type 56 characters, so now I'm just in it for my personal curiosity at this point chuckles1

I'd guess /0404\ to be honest.  Numbers are packed tightly within the triangle like that are usually indicative of a four digit code.

The 'unfired' /26\ 24 mil gun you are looking for will always have a french tickler handguard.  Easy giveaway.  thumb1

Only very early /26\ lack the type 56 characters. Nearly all others will have them...including 23-24m.

Illegible Triangle is a description that covers about 20% of the factories,
If the factory id was 10 numbers long it was getting in that triangle somehow.  :)
