Please correct me if I am wrong.  I am under the belief that this is a Chinese Mosin T53 ammo pouch and Chinese brass Mosin stripper clips.  Yes or no?  If not what are they?  What are they worth if I decide to let them go?  Thanks!

I have some brass strippers that came with some 50'era Chinese x54r ammo. No clue on the value, but they do work way better than the commercial bubblegum wrapper modern day ones. The pouch..it may, could be Chinese, age no clue, could have been made in the 50's and stored, or it could have been made 2 years ago. So much of their stuff claimed to be surplus, may or could just be current production stuffs like the millions of slings on Fleabay, etc and the piles of other stuff available.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

Okay thanks!  The pouch just looks to be in too good of shape to me to be surplus.  I am guessing recent production or reproduction.

As far as i know, the green ones like this are chinese, but i see a long pouch like that and say sks.  To be fair i have no idea what a chinese mosin pouch is though.

The pouch is dated 1957 so it isn't recent. It's is an SKS pouch though. Jon

It probably would work fine as an SKS pouch. Maybe you should contact the author of "The Mosin Nagant Rifle", by Bill Harriman and tell him he is incorrect, and all those collectors that provided his information are incorrect as well. As well as all the vendors who tote it as a Mosin Nagant accessory.

Guess there is no chance it couldn't be a Mosin pouch, I mean the Type 53 had only been in production 4 years up to 1957 verses the Type 56 which was still cutting it's teeth and getting it's production kinks worked out by that point with Russia helping in 1957.

well, clearly we need a known sks pouch to measure and compare, and pictures of each loaded.
They may just be very similar styles, or it could be the exact same thing.

I am going to stick with my own and others assessments that the green pouch is indeed a Chinese T53 pouch and not a pouch for the Chinese T56 SKS rifle.  Of all that I have seen, read, and presented on the subject over the years, the most "evidence" points to it being a T53 pouch and not a T56 pouch.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I am of the opinion it is a T53 ammo pouch!

I dont know why all the jibber jabber and no research.
sks pouch on the bottom, mosin at the top.
The difference between known  sks and other green ones is clear when looking at the V of the closure.
I have spoken.
All hail the mighty newchi.

Okay, here are the pics of it.

I think its mosin, looks like the V joins before it folds underneath.
SKS pouches V seem to join underneath.
Thats really all i have to go on
