Not sure how I convinced myself that the chrome lining started some time 1950.

But...did chrome lining first appear in 1951?

By 1950...chrome lined bores were 10+ years old, chrome bores were old news in 195x whatever..

Japan was the first to chrome bores, the Type 99 Arisakas, all Type 100 submachine guns, some late Type 38 6.5mm Arisakas, and even some late Type 14 "Nambu" pistols had chrome-lined bores..
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

1949 SKS carbines have no chrome lining. Did they start to chrome line the sks in 1950 or 1951?

I have seen mid '51 quoted as the chrome lining start date...but I don't collect and study Russians.. I have 2 or 3, I personally have never shot'em, I just chucked them in the safe with the rest. One is not chrome, the other two are.
