I've talked about, but shown little about, what I call my "Silver Ghost" early Type 56 SKS. Well I fell in love with this puppy, when I first stained my hands with that sweet Albanian cosmo. She's an all matching 5 digit Ghost from the Albanian imports a few years back. I'd guess the bluing left would be around 20-30% or so? Still looking for the undercarriage pics but here she is.....Hope Y'all see the beauty I do.

Now I've gone over this 1 in every light with a mag glass and I assure you it IS a match  :))

A lil blurry but matches as well

Notice the 2

again

AND again the 2,  Remind any 1 of the Russians?  ;)

The I.O. INC MONROE NC Import stamp

Wouldn't be a armedhippie post w/o a gratuitous "damn cat got in the pic"  rofl with a side bonus of toes  in there too!

Remember fellas she's mine, but I don't mind sharing  :))  Thanks for looking  thumb1

Just plain sexy...I have been tempted to take an SKS into the white, but have never had enough acid on hand to do the job before I came to my senses...read that however you want.  :P

The previous owner must have either:

A: Really wanted to be in the Honor Guard, and had plenty of spare elbow grease
B: Didn't clean his rifle up to snuff before the big inspection and never made that mistake again
C: Had battery acid for sweat...had a buddy like that, he could wear out a set of guitar strings in an afternoon.
D: Was very good at his job, for a very long time

The bright metal really makes the color of the stock pop out.

I love it  thumb1 A nice matching SKS. The Albanians said we don't need no stinking refurbishment  :))

One of my early Type 56s could give it a run for its money...I think 5% blue would be a generous assessment for much of the gun  chuckles1

rofl Yep, Right crowd for this sexy beast  thumb1 This 1 was cleaned with something very strong before cosmo, cuz there is no rust pitting at all to end up like this. Strong scrub marks on the mag well but yet under the stock line....well thats where my 20-30% comes into play.

Justin, Your right on the money, I've also called this 1 my "Poor man's Honor guard" as well  chuckles1

Awesome old warhorse hippie!  Like P32 says, my six digit /26\ might give you a run for your money on bluing loss too but I think yours is in much nicer condition.  thumb1
