So.....cleaning up my recent 51 and noticed a few things.  Of course I learn new things all the time......but this 51 has a non chrome lined barrel.....and early style straight eared bayo lug,  friction lock safety ( Non spring loaded firing pin), much blockier shaped gas piston head and the long style RSB. It's all matching and appears to be not refurbished. For you Russian pros....is this pretty normal for an early 51?

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Let's see the pics!!!

But yes all features are typicsl for a '51, some like the 45 degree gas block and square ear solid bayo lug carry into '52 as well.

The spring loaded FP was out in mid '50 as far as I know.  I don't know the exact transition of non-chrome to chrome barrel or friction safeties, those features are not well captured via photos over the net.

Here ya go.....Barrel not chrome lined...but not hideous either. Sorry about the lighting on some of them....

Nothing wrong with that, lol. I've sold off a bunch as well, only to get more  :P

That's the funny part...AND the part that keeps me out of trouble....I can lineage 1 rifle back to the sale of probably the 10 before it money-wise. I only have 1-3 SKS's on hand at any one time. I sell some to enable the purchase of others. Not a business for me...but a passion of sorts.....fix them up to how they should be (mostly) and send them back out to folks who truly collect them (as in put them in some dark hole and never use them....which drives me nuts!) To each there own I suppose. There's so many different variations out there....for me, it's fun to know I've laid hands on many of them. To go back and count dollars vs. investment.....I have definitely lost money....lol....
It is a ton of fun and I find it very interesting to learn the ins and outs of all the different countries variations and takes on what the Russians invented.
