Search Russian stock w/red lens

Earlier this afternoon I was looking at the stock of my Russian, grabbed the closest light that happened to have a red lens and to my surprise found a number in the red finish under that red light that I have not seen with white light. It's an 18 stamped on the right side of the butt stock and is very shallow, barely discernable. The red light seemed to bring the number out more.

I messaged running-man & he suggested I post this info, have any of you tried a search like this with the same or similar results?
