Hi Arego.  Sounds like a late Chinese gun with that short lug and poor finish work on the barrel.  Quite common in the rectangular arsenals actually.  The S/N doesn't sound typical for that  gun though as letter guns with the format K### would be long lugged and of quite good quality.  This sound like it would be a good candidate for some photos.  You can post up a new thread here, or if you're not comfortable sharing it here you can always email me at: running-man @ SKS-Files.com and I can discuss with you there.     Glad to have you aboard!
