1. Bottle of soy sauce (any size) depends on how much you want to make.
2. Brown sugar ( 2lb bag maybe) depends on how much soy sauce your using.
3. Fresh ginger root , a two inch piece (smash it up with a hammer) put it into the sauce)
4. A good squirt of ketchup
5. Electric mixer
Now put the soy sauce in a bowl add the ginger root and sugar. Pour in sugar one cup at a time ,mix well. Keep adding sugar till you take most of the salt taste out of the sauce. Once it's to your liking, give it a good squirt of ketchup . Mix it up again. Add to chicken or beef. It's best if you let it marinate with the meat for a couple days.

Sounds interesting.  Perhaps I'll try it with some chicken in that smoker I'm making.  thumb1

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Nice and simple!  thumb1.

I've never been a huge fan of heavy ginger but I could tone it down to taste.  dance2

Very simple and good. I try to marinate at least two days if possible. I made a batch last weekend and only let it marinate 12 hours.
Let me know how it turns out in the smoker, haven't tried that yet. Usually just cook it indirect on a Weber kettle, then toss it over the fire to finish it off.  Watch out for flare up since there's alot of sugar in the sauce.
