Kind of lost my mind on this one. Ended up overpaying but at least it is in pretty good shape and the numbered parts match. I was surprised to see the gas tube and piston numbered. The thumbhole stock isn't as bulky as I expected and surprisingly light but I wish they had stuck with the regular forend like the NR ( I missed out on one by 1/2 an hour  >:(). It has a cast RSB, FSB, and gas block. I really like the feel of the trigger, moving it back makes for a lot less "creep". I may put the thumbhole away and look for an old stock to put it in. Now if I could just figure out whether it's an M or a D? rofl chuckles1 rofl2

She's a beaut Bears!  I don't think you can bid too much on one of these, they have held their value quite well.  Even bubbas regularly push $550 on GB.  This one is nice and clean.  I'll be interested to hear if she shoots as well as she looks!  thumb1

Nice gun!

I really like my Aussie thumbhole which is essentially identical...I don't know about weight, but mine feels really nice to shoot....I sure wish it was a para though.  Mine lacked a buttpad, I fabricated one and was able to keep the LOP down enough for my scope to work perfectly.

I also like the angle you get from these stocks...it is like the happy medium betwixt a factory stock and a pistol grip. The beefier forend works well for me too.  It is certainly a completely different feel from a regular SKS though.

The funky Planet of the Apes look might grow on you. :)

Wow... Looks like its in remarkable condition!

For a planet of the apes gun that is..   clap1

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Technically speaking....it IS an M :)

Thanks guys, I was pretty happy to see it looked as good in hand as it did online. Looking over the GB sales I paid at the high end but they do seem to be going up. I was surprised at how rough some of the machining was. I figured they'd spiff up the commercial ones but it looks like they were just pumping them out as fast as possible. This has seen a fair amount of use. The piston was almost stuck in the gas tube because of all the carbon, luckily they must not have shot corrosive stuff. The bolt and carrier were still stuck together with cosmoline  :o I wonder if they sold it because of a slamfire, the pin was stuck pretty good. I'm hoping it will stay cold enough to shoot this week. We're almost into mud season and I don't want to lose a boot setting targets :)

Well I said technically it is an M, because Ms and Sporters are the identical gun, except for the stock. The action is identical.

Wow...A beauty is right , that puppy is pretty. You might end up enjoying that thumbhole stock. Might take a lil getting used to, but looks good. Congrats man  thumb1 You might feel like you payed a lil to much today but....given a lil time you'll be glad you got it...'cuz they ain't gonna get any cheeper.

Hippies are like stray cats...Feed 'em once and they never leave...then they stink up your couch.

I've found that the thumbhole stocks are very comfortable to shoot :)
