So so true. Its even worse when I'm taking pics of a pistol. Dang thing stands/lays on top of 'em. At least with rifle pics, I can take close up pics where the dang thing isint in the pic. Any1 driving by has to be like " There's that gun toting long hair throwing that damn cat across the yard again..."

That is a darn nice DP...it looks to be machined better than many I have seen...and I love the nipple style gas blocks....so perky, and for whatever reason...something they did differently.

I wonder if they are bulbous on the inside too, and if that was a design change for a functional purpose, as it would seem to require more material than the regular gas block would. These being made at a time when it seems they were cutting corners it would seem odd to drastically alter a part without reason.

The DPs and DBs just keep you scratchin' your head.

Justin, Thanks man. I agree it is on the nicer side of the DP and DB's I've seen. Its odd cuz a local shop has a 24 mill DB that is on the opposite end with rough machining and rough cast parts. I'm begining to wonder if the city symbol has anything to do with quality control? It will take time and more examples but eventualy we'll figure something more out. 

I'll do some side by side on the insides of some gas blocks when I get a chance. I'm leaning toward the bulbous 1's being a new way of casting vs milling but they seem to have been smoothed and worked more than other casts I've seen. I'm thinking that they didn't pan out has a time saver and that's why we don't see 'em that often....odd though that they are mostly on DP and DB's though.....Like you said....Head scratchers for sure.
