The rifle on the left is a '71 and yes it's an original Albanian sling I bought off Vic at Gunboards.
About six months ago I located another original sling and they are pretty rare for sure.

But the more I look at them, the more I like the looks of them. Especially these!

That's outright blasphemy Danny!!!! 

Albys got a reputation as crudely machined, crudely assembled, & crudely finished.  They are the same as any other SKS in my opinion though, there are some good ones and some terrible ones.  It was exacerbated by the poor refurb and storage policies of the Albanians (that we also see in the current Sino-banian imports!)  Blicero won't want to hear this, but there are some Russians that I've seen that don't quite pass muster, and weall know that there were tons of Chinese guns that look to have been cut with a dull butter knife.  I think it's just the nature of the beast in just-barely-above-third world communist countries.

The charging handle and magazine are my two favorite features.  I could take or leave the longer stock & handguard, but the charging handle is

I like the charging handle too, they're cool as a popsicle.

Very nice collection of Albanians.. 

I love these rifles for the simple fact they are different, low production, and hard for bubba to slap a crapco stock on.

At one point I intended to get one from every year.
I missed a chance way back to get a '76 in very good condition for $260 because I was trying to talk the owner down on the price 
Now the prices are so high I'm pretty much done collecting them unless a great deal just drops in my lap.
They are all number matching. A couple have replacement hand guards , two have original Albanian slings and all have the original tube oilers and cleaning kits.
