Hi SKS Nerds,

I have an Israeli capture, 12M series, blued bolt, dual cut laminate furniture (picts in the Guide with Martin08s). When I got it, it had a spiker bayo. Could I get away with a blade bayo? Would it be legit or accurate? PAX

I know that I have seen IC,  og-spiker Type56s with replacement blade bayos in dual cut Soviet laminate stocks.  Couldn't tell you if the blade bayos were added before or after importation, but I have seen this combo before.

...actually, now that I think about it...

what I may have seen was a pre-spike Type56, in a soviet stock with a replacement spike bayonet.

Would be just fine. Remember, 9 mills w/ blade bayos were the other run of IC’s. Lots of parts were swapped around I’m sure. Those double cut laminates can accept either type, so.

My 9 mill IC (ignore the cheese grater)

I was thinking of changing it to blade, then all my keeper classical SKS rifles (except the Alby & Alby bladed jungle stock) would be blade. BTW Worm, not a bad looking HG. Is it metal or poly? PAX

Your call what you do but as someone who was addicted to the Israeli capture guns for a long time I say either way you’re good. For what that’s worth.

The cheese grater is metal, khyber customs sells em. I think all sks’s should’ve come standard with them. First thing to crack/get replaced are those wimpy upper wood handguards when you use them hard.  thumb1

Mine was actually my 1st SKS, a $70 single shot. Froze gas piston. Wasn't till a couple decades later, as we learned more about the variety of them, that I discovered it was a capture. PAX
