Ran across this numbers matching "Jungle Stock" Type 56 at the local gun store a few days ago, and ended up going back and buying it today. It's nothing fancy or really noteworthy even, but, I like the look of these phenolic stocks. Gave it a good cleaning, and added a sling that I had laying around. Just needs a blade bayonet and cleaning rod now!

EDIT: It also came with the cleaning kit in the stock...Not many of my SKS/Pattern rifles do, so, that was a pleasant surprise!

Pretty sharp and kinda scarce in blade configuration.
The last of my scrubbed parts-built rifles went in a phenolic stock. I had several blade and spike and a handful of hand guards, but only one stock and one HG matched colors so I went with it. It's often tough to get those to match. It's set up sorta unique, with a black bolt carrier, black Alby bayo and black naval sling. Here it is with a couple other rifles I warmed over a scootch. PAX

Very nice find, congratulations.

Nice!  Those side swivel blade bayo jungle stocks are hard to come by!

What factory is the carbine from?  I assume the phenolic stock is unnumbered?

Thanks! It's a factory 296 with a Letter series serial number, and you are correct: There are no numbers on the stock.

That looks really good. I like that black spike bayonet, and I really dig that Paratrooper! One of those is at the top of my list to add to the collection.

Thanks, the cheese grater Para is a home-grown salvage. P50 front sight, Williams rear, TriDelta 14X1 brake. The bottom Para I happened to have a French tickler HG that was a good match for the replacement stock. The rifle came with a fugly camo job. When your ready I've got a couple I'd let got, both listed on Caguns.net. One is the FT guy shown above the other is a kinda scarce blade Para. I have a couple of them, PAX
