Sindone

This is the rifle I won from GB a few weeks back.  I haven't had time to disassemble it.  I'm happy to add a PS to the collection.
All the numbers match but if you look close the last 2 digits in every number appear to be a different stamp, or font, or at least stamped at a different time.

Hey Sindone, glad you grabbed that one! It looks pretty solid, and if you're so inclined I think you can mitigate the minor oxidation on the blued elements without damaging or altering the bluing. Don't use steel wool. Use bronze wool loaded with Ballistol, and very gently go over the offending spots with NO pressure to speak of. Stop and check often, wipe off the oil, and make sure the bluing doesn't appear to be changing. Or the safer bet is oil it, shoot it, and enjoy it as-is!

Nice looking PS SKS! I like the reddish hue of the factory 0141 guns 8) thumb1

I second the advice to give it a good oil and bronze wool, brass brush cleaning. I’d guess that during its few decades in the USA it spent at least a few years in one of the humid states without much attention. Lightly neglected and easily addressed.
