Nice sight! Not as much of a shooter as I was earlier in my life but wanting to get back into it. Was doing my annual cleaning and decided to do some research on my SKS. I bought mine out of a crate at a Dallas gun show 25 years ago. Walked in and paid cash for the gun, picked up 500 rnds Russian ammo, a couple of 30 round clips and walked out the same day....the good old days!

I have an Chinese 8Mil /26\ with a spike bayonet, which seems to be a little out of the norm. I will posts some pics on the appropriate page when I figure out how.

Hi Jeff, welcome to SKS-Files.  We're always happy to have new members young and old!  We're still uncovering new things about these fine firearms daily, sometimes I think there is more that we don't know than what we've uncovered. 

Post up your 8 mil, especially the front stock ferrule area that the bayonet stows up into and we'll see if we can figure out what's up with it.
