New M59/66

Just picked this rifle up today for $850CAD i already got the dummy grenade for it now I just need blanks. This rifle is in amazing shape, still has cosmoline in the bayonet lug (although the firing pin channel is clear). Overall I’m very impressed with the Yugoslavian build quality. I’m a bit disappointed that I didn’t get night sights but that’s a super small gripe.

This now completes the Canadian trio of rifles (I don’t think we get any of the other variants here unfortunately)

You didn't get night sights?  It also looks like the stock was replaced as it doesn't quite match the finish of the handguard.

Is it a D or very early E series S/N?  Those M59/66's (as opposed to the upgraded M59/66A1 or M59/66A2s) are very few and far between and actually quite desirable, especially in good condition. 

I'm pretty sure that the other 2 common variants are floating around in Canada in minuscule numbers.  If you look really hard you can find them, but they are pretty pricey if you do find them!

I saw a M59 sell for $1000 like six months ago and there are several M59/66’s for sale but all at 1850-2100 which I will never buy

Odd the M59/66s bring that much more than the M59s.. here it's the opposite, wonder what a long barrel M59 would go for there?

Due to my prior career, I'm curious if the rifle Grenade is an original or reproduction  .

Not sure what your prior career was but it’s a rubber repro (although it has steel so it’s safe to use)

Nice sks.  Love the yugo's
